This event will move beyond acknowledging youth as “the future” to analyzing their power as catalysts of change in the present. We will deconstruct the tools and strategies that make youth-led movements so effective in pushing the climate justice agenda forward. This side event will also focus on how the ICJ’s opinion empowers citizens and youth to legally demand accountability from their governments for inadequate climate action.
The event will have opening remarks by the Spanish Youth Council and Generación Clima, representing the youth delegation attending COP30. Followed by an interactive dialogue with Youth leaders and activists from different backgrounds and experiences, with a special focus on Brazil, as host of the conference.
