Decarbonisation looks different across sectors, but the goal is the same: cutting emissions while staying competitive.

In energy, it means moving to renewables and hydrogen; in industry, electrifying processes and using circular materials; in transport, shifting to electric and biofuels; and in agriculture, improving efficiency and reducing methane.

Real progress depends on cross-sector collaboration, clear regulation, and innovation that connects these efforts into one sustainable system.

In Spain, the main objectives of cross-sector decarbonisation are:

  • To align with EU and national climate goals, which means transforming the energy system through renewables and green hydrogen, decarbonizing industry with electrification and carbon capture, and promoting sustainable mobility and building renovation.
  • To know what companies can do proactIt also includes advancing sustainable agriculture, boosting innovation and public-private cooperation, and using EU recovery funds to scale up green technologies.ively to be not only champions of the climate but also champions of human rights.

Altogether, it’s about making Spain’s economy more competitive, resilient, and climate neutral.
