This side event seeks to contrast the different initiatives carried out at the ministerial level, from the culture departments of different international institutions, in relation to the conservation and preservation of cultural heritage in the face of the climate crisis along with our planet, cultural heritage is in serious danger and, in turn, can help us seek inspiration for adaptive strategies. At this point the most challengin issue for heritage technicians is the management, integrating all the risks and menaces, an also incorporating local communities, as well as, designing new operative documents such as Restoration or Recovery Plans for sites affected by extreme events due to the climate change.

This side event will also recall the main conclussions in this field raised in Mondiacult, the summit of all the ministers of culture of the unesco states, that was hosted in Barcelona last september.

  • Discuss on the integration of the impacts and risks of Climate Change on the management plans for Cultural Heritage (tangible and intangible).
